The learning curve for new physical therapist assistant program directors is steep, due to the multiple roles and responsibilities which must be quickly mastered to be an effective leader. This session will provide attendees effective strategies and advice regarding curricular design/revision, program assessment, program administration, as well as other PTA program director responsibilities. This workshop will target individuals that are new (within the first 3 years) to the role of PTA program director or individuals that anticipate entering that role in the near future. This session will also provide a unique opportunity to collaborate and network with other new program directors in determining strategies to facilitate success.

Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

1. Describe the characteristics of effective PTA program directors.

2. Identify effective strategies and resources for program assessment and administration

3. Create a plan for program assessment

4. Implement an ongoing plan to meet accreditation expectations
