Description:
In this session, the speakers will define the value of home health physical therapy. They will present the Value Position Statement adopted by the APTA Home Health Section and discuss the research and evidence to substantiate the statement including: value of home health physical therapy's role in population health, outcomes/cost, and patient care experience. The session will also include an example of value metrics from a large health care system and a panel discussion.

Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

1. Define the value of home health physical therapy.

2. Acquire knowledge in how home health physical therapy (HHPT) enhances population health.

3. Discuss how home health physical therapy contributes to quality outcomes and cost savings.

4. Describe the benefit of home health physical therapy from the patient care experience perspective.
