Description:
The transition from fee-for-service to value-based payment is upon us, and this new payment model is here to stay. By virtue of physical therapists' skillsets, they should be positioned for success under value-based payment models. Some physical therapist practices have signed collaboratorž≥Ć agreements with local hospitals and accountable care organizations (ACOs), but most haven't done anything to transition to value-based payment models. How do therapists, while being paid fee-for-service, prepare for a successful transition and show that they are ready for value-based care? Physical therapists must approach those organizations participating in alternative payment models, demonstrate how they are essential to improving outcomes and controlling costs, and prove that they should be included on their care teams.In this session, the speakers will crack the code to success in value-based care with real-life case studies demonstrating what innovative PT practices are doing to achieve success in value-based payment arrangements today and capitalize on the opportunities of the future. They also will review the steps PTs should take now to research, prepare for, and realize the opportunities available to physical therapists under value-based care arrangements.

2. Follow 3 necessary steps to participating in value-based programs in your area.
