In this educational session, we will demonstrate several options for using 3D printing to customize assistive devices, modify special equipment, and create specific adaptations for equipment or exercises. We will present real-world experience using 3D printed adaptations for a group of patients with complex medical issues including a review of the challenges, strengths and outcomes.In this process of learning, we will discuss materials, machines, and software which will make this easier for any clinician and more effective for any patient. Combine the knowledge of a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant with the functionality of software to create various devices. Finally, watch as actual items take shape in the onsite 3D printer as designed creations are 'printed' in front of attendees.In order to effectively provide rehabilitative care in a complex medical system, rehabilitative specialists need to be fluent in how technology can enhance their delivery of patient care. In addition, using a 3D printer can move your clinic ahead in a competitively edging environment. In addition, providing specific and customized adaptations allows our patients to become ever more independent in the world.
