Description:
This course is the first offering of this content area by the Health Policy and Administration Section's LAMP committee. The speakers will cover performance management, human resources, legal considerations, regulatory aspects, compliance issues, communication, project/program management, finance, and budgeting. This case study and scenario-based course will examine current issues and address current trends faced by the new manager and developing manager and will provide participants with the tools to effectively and efficiently get the work쳌 done through systems and people. Prior to the course, attendees will complete a management self-assessment and review selected supporting materials. This offering is valuable for all PTs and PTAs, regardless of their administrative or managerial role, including practice owners, clinicians, educators, researchers, and students who want to develop their administration and management effectiveness and efficiency.

Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

1. Establish a knowledge base of basic administrative and managerial principles that will allow you to work effectively with people and systems.

2. Apply basic administrative and managerial skills by recognizing needs and identifying resources appropriate for your situation.
