Description:
There are a vast number of opportunities for volunteering on a global scale as a women's health physical therapist. However, it can be difficult to discern what organizations are legitimate when trying to participate in leadership. This session is the first part of a 3-part discussion that will educate participants on the opportunities for global leadership in education, national organizations, and medical volunteer trips. The speaker, president of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT), discusses the creation of this organization and the opportunities for leadership in the physical therapy profession on a global scale. The speaker also examines being a woman in a national position of leadership.

Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

1. Examine the origins of international physical therapist organizations, such as the World Confederation of Physiotherapy.

2. Identify opportunities for student organizations to volunteer on a global scale.
